MARCELLA KUROWSKI will talk about her improvisational painting and her role as a live painter for the audio/visual group DaDA Mr. She will show a short video of her creating a painting from start to finish.
DaDa Mr. is the collaboration of Marcella and her husband, Cavaliere. She paints to his impromptu music with a sheet of clear acetate over an LED light box projected onto a screen or a building.
They have performed in an array of venues throughout Southern Connecticut.
Marcella was born and raised in Bridgeport, Ct. where she still lives and creates in the downtown studio she shares with husband. She attended Housatonic Community College and Western Ct State university for fine arts.
Aside from working in her studio with paint and sculpture, she does commission portrait sculpture, assists in a ceramic studio, and collaborates with an alternative process photographer on painted tintypes. She has had solo shows in Bridgeport and Stratford and has been in group shows in Fairfield, Bridgeport, New London, and Norwalk.
