The presenter will be Stamford mixed media artist, Ellen Gordon. She will give a power point presentation to explain the process she uses in her artwork and show what inspires her. She will also show photos of the model she drew and used in her finished works.
Ellen holds a master’s degree from Baruch College in NYC. Her art training is from the Greenwich Art Society, Silvermine Arts Guild, and the Rowayton Arts Center. See her attached collage, “Dreaming of India”.
Ellen has exhibited regionally and is the recipient of many awards, including from the Flinn Gallery for Greenwich Art Society, the Bendheim Gallery of the Greenwich Arts Center and the National Faber Birren Color Award Exhibition at the Stamford Art Society. She is the President of the Loft Artists Association in Stamford and serves on the board of the Greenwich Art Society. Ellen is also one of 3 artists showing work in the Kershner Gallery in the Fairfield Library.
Ellen says her newer work is inspired by her drawings from private sessions with her model, and it “speaks more about the creative magic that happens when inspiration and form collide. The artwork itself is the result of a searching process – finding the shapes and lines in both the figure and transcribing those lines into contemporary compositions.”
